You can't go wrong with a cushion cut diamond. It's the perfect solution if you like both round, and princess (square) cut. Although it may seem new and modern, the cushion cut diamond traces back to the nineteenth century. Before it became the cushion cut we all know and love today, this diamond was reffered to as the "mine cut", a square diamond with round edges. The mine cut was named after the Brazilian diamond mines. The old mine cut can still be This diamond had 58 facets while the modern cushion cut typically has 64 facets due to evolution through the years. The many facets that make up the cushion cut diamond allow more light to flow through the stone, making this particular shape one of the most brilliant of all the cuts. The cushion cut diamond is a classic diamond that will never go out of style no matter what setting you choose.
